Axon Hajj Training Simulator (AHTS) is a training tool for Haji going for Hajj and Umrah. It is also an edutainment medium for Muslims who cannot afford to go for Hajj or Umrah and also for non-Muslims who want to get the feel of Hajj – one of the largest holy gathering in the world.
It’s is based on multi projection technology (MPT) through which large curved screen display is
created by joining multiple projectors (2 or more) seamlessly and by applying geometry correction.
The curvature of screen creates virtual immersive reality based image giving the feel to the audience
as if they actually are at that location.
Axon 313 Sdn Bhd managed three breakthrough technologies during the R&D stage of this project. It took almost 2 years of R&D and one year in development of build this prototype. These breakthrough technologies are as follows:
a) Doing smooth flicker less interactivity in the 4K resolution environment.
b) Managing smooth flicker less interacting within huge environments’ with 4K resolution.
c) Managing multiple projectors from single controller for interactivity purpose. The main issue was that through multiple projectors we create seamless display whereas the signal comes from different sources and for interactivity purpose our controller had to see the display as one large display.
Main Components of AHTS
Axon Hajj Training Simulator (AHTS) comprises of five (05) main component:
1) Axon Engine (Image Generator & Simulation Systems);
2) 8K Lumens E-Vision WUXGA Projectors with dual lamp. Projectors’ will be connected through 300’ long fiber optics DVI cables (2 units);
3) Complete 1000 watts per channel sound system with 2 Shore cordless mics, Mixer and two speakers with stand;
4) Portable Curved Screen (Optional); and
5) AHTS Software.
The maximum size that can be managed from these two projectors would be 40 ft. (Wide) and (16 ft. (High) and the minimum size would be 18 ft. (Wide) and 6.2 ft. (High).
